And so another one hits!

I just heard that an earth quake of 8.9 hit off the coast of Japan and casued a Tsunami. It is just terrifying how mother nature can wield power of that magnitude in the blink of an eye. Short on the heels of the New Zealand quakes Japan also takes the hit. It frightens me that mega cities are cripled so easly. What about the smaller less developed countries. What's going to hit next? I think this is another call for the poeple of this planet to wake-up and see what the earth can do to us so we better start taking care of it.

Oscar review amongst other things

HI ALL

Hope you are ready for the new week and all the chalenges it may hold.

Ok so lets get straight into it. In January I purchased a necklace on ebay. It is based on the necklace on The Vampire Diaries (TVD). I didn't get it because I am SO into it I just really like the look of the pendant. I finally got the package on Friday! And I LOVE it! Couldn't believe it but the seller actually added real Vervain in a little packet to put into the pendant if I wanted. Now I can just imagine what would have happened if the customs officials decided to scan my package. I would probably be questioned for smuggling weed or something. Haha. The plant itself is quite nice looking when fresh but just looks like herbs when dried. Anyway  I'm really happy with my purchase as It adds a little pizaz to an outfit.

Below is a picture of fresh vervain just for interest's sake.
Ok so the Oscars were last week and there were some stunner dresses and then some not so stunner dresses. Below are my pics for best dressed from nr5 - nr1(Best Dressed):

Fashion Passion

I know I went on about the Forever21 website yesterday but I gave in today. But It's not as bad as it sounds. It is almost winter here in South Africa and there was a huge sale on. I limited myself to 2 items which I think is not bad at all! I got the following two items:

I haven't seen these items here in SA before so had to get it! The jacket was $9.99 (R70) and the Fedora was $7.99 (R56) what a save! I love these items and think they will add a something special to any outfit! Once I receive them in the mail, which will be around 6weeks, I will post pics.

There were other items I also wanted but decided against. These items were:

I absolutely love these items. I think they would add a chic feel to any item. You can wear them to work or out. Really girly girl! I REALLY want that purple jacket! The only problem I do have with ordering from this site is that the shipping is $35 (R266) which I feel is not that cheap. But if you want an item you will have to weigh up if it is worth it. For me the two items I purchased are not readily available to me here and if they are they are hundreds of rands so to me this was worth it!

The new books I love

Ok so yesterday I talked about how I wanted to start budgeting and how I would keep you updated well here it is. I almost lost it on the first day! I went onto the forever21 website and just packed things into the cart. WHY? I don't know! I did however remove everything and did not purchase anything!YAY ME! I think I do the internet shopping thing when I am bored so I need to get productive at work! This sitting on the computer all day with nothing to do is not good for my fiances. I actually got a good book that gave me some good tips. The book is called "The modern girl's guide to sticky situations" by Jane Buckingham.
The book gave some ideas on how to make some extra cash if you don't have time for a second job. The one I really liked is to open an ebay store and sell your unwanted goodies on there. I think it is a brilliant idea. Instead of me buying this on ebay and bidorbuy I will sell the stuff I don't need and maybe make some extra cash. Another book I got recently that I think is great, is "Skinny Bitch Ultimate Everyday Cookbook" by Kim Barnouin.

The book tells you why meat is not the best thing for you and tells you which fruits and veggies are the healtiest and contain the least amount of pollutants. I am not a Vegan or even a vegetarian but do participate in meat free mondays. This book is also great fo when you just want to have some fresh ideas for salads and side dishes. I highly recommend it!

For a more relaxing read I love fantasy books. I am currently reading the first book in "The Immortals" series called "Evermore" by Alyson Noel. It is a light read by keeps you entertained. I started the book yesterday and am almost half way. Can't wait to finish so I can start the next book in the series called "Bluemoon". I bought a box set with the first three books. and can't wait to see where the story goes. It does kind of remind me of the Twilight books but does have differnt avanues. Lets see where it leads. :)
However while we are on the topic of books I have to talk/write about "The House of Night" series by PC and Kristen Cast. It must be my favourite series so far. It has a completely different take on the vampire teen angle and I love it. There are eight books out so far and I have read seven of them. Can't wait to get the last book and get tucked in. This series is addictive, entertaining and HIGHLY recommended!

Well guess that's it for now. Have a good day!
